Who makes it?
Ecker Gruner Von Eckhof is a Gruner Veltliner wine from the Ecker family estate. The family’ focus has been on making wine since the 1980s. In 1990, they opened up for Heuriger for the first time. The estate is also fully organic too (since 2022).
The family do not limit their passion to Gruner Veltliner, but they also grow Riesling, Pinot blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Zweigelt.
How do they make it?
The Gruner Von Eckhof is a stainless steel version with the aim being fruit purity. You will find the vineyards for this wine around Kirchberg am Wagram which is to the North West of Vienna. This wine is an organic wine.
Gruner Veltliner is undoubtedly very popular in the vineyards in Wagram. Here the soil has pockets of loess which is often rich in the calcium deposits. The wines labelled Wagram DAC are dry style wines of high quality.
