Waitrose wine shelves have an excellent and large range of wines. It is hard to know where to start. Of course, the secret is knowing what to look for.
This is not an exhaustive list, however, it is a generous list (ok there is more than TWO dozen here!) that you should start with:

White wines
Torres Vina Sol (£8) – Dry, crisp and lighter in style. Click here for full review.

Macerao Naranjo Orange (£9) – It tastes like honeyed ginger, orange peel, apricots and some lush floral notes. Click here for full review.
Quinta de Azevedo Vinho Verde (£10) – A dry fresh, crisp white that doesn’t need food and is just good drinking. Click here for a full review.
Tour Chapoux Sauvignon Blanc (£10) – A fresh and crisp Sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux. Good value here. Click here for full review.
Yalumba Organic Viognier (£11) – From the fresh whiff this dry white is captivating. It has a supple cream overlying the fragrant jasmine, apricot and ginger fruit. Click here for full review.
Reyneke Organic Chenin Blanc (£11) – A layer of spiced cream, with a snap of ginger underlying the fresh pear and apple fruit. Click here for full review.
Felsner Moosburgerin Gruner Veltliner (£14) – A ripe, fruity dry white that offers something different for white lovers.
Muga Blanco Rioja (£14) – Complex, textural, spicy and balanced! Fruity with a dollop of cream. Click here for a full review.
Catena Chardonnay (£15) – A full bodied Chardonnay that has lush oak and is very creamy and buttery.
Tyrrell’s HVD Semillon (£24) – Taste one of Australia’s unique wine styles with this Hunter Valley Semillon. It is crisp, citrusy and zesty.

Rosé
Le Bijou De Sophie Valrose Coteaux de Beziers (£7) – A rosé that is generous in intensity yet fresh, silky smooth and rather easy to drink. Click here for full review.
The Beach (£17) – Feels like summer in a glass at any time of year! Dry, pink and a delightful mouthful of fruit and cream. Click here for full review.
M de Minuty Provence Rosé (£18) – Fuller bodied with ripe red apple and berry fruit. Crisp and lingering on the finish. Click here for full review.

Gerard Bertrand Le Chouchou (£13) – This is a great chill red from a reliable pair of hands. Click here for full review.
Remy Ferbras Ventoux (£10) – A more medium bodied red that is full of fruit and some soft tannins. Click here for full review.

Terre Di Faiano Primitivo (£11) – Intense with vanilla and chocolate coated cherries and a irresistible silkiness.
Terre Di Faiano Nero d’Avola (£11) – Bold and full bodied with generous cherry fruit with some savoury herbs and spices Click here for full review.
Wirra Wirra Church Block (£15) – Fuller bodied and plush in the mouth. Full of fruit and a wine that wins friends around the table. Click here for full review.
The Hedonist Shiraz (£15) – An elegant fuller bodied red with lashings of plum and red fruit and a sprinkle of pepper. Click here for full review.
Gaia Organic Malbec (£18) – A lush coloured red that is peppery, fruity and fresh! Hard to resist and organic too. Click here for full review.

Sweeties
Campbell’s Rutherglen Muscat (£15) – Campbells are one of Australia’s experts in this very luxuriously sweet style of wine. This is sweet and excellent.
Taylors LBV Port (£20) – A classic sweet Port. (A seasonal purchase. Check availability)
Lustau Pedro Ximenez Murillo (£19) – This is very rich and very sweet. However, the sweetness is countered by some savoury spice. Sublime.
