Katnook is one of those brands that should appear as a constant in your cellar (and 2006 is a good Coonawarra vintage to start your cellar with).  They produce classic Coonawarra wines that offer a nice balance between fruit concentration and structure without seeming to follow that trend towards massive alcohol.  This vintage offers just 13.5% on the label.  A more medium bodied wine showing some up front juicy rich blackberry, pepper and cassis characters, joined by flavour hints of mint and vanilla.
