Who makes it?
Croser NV Sparkling is one of the original sparkling wines originally made by Brian Croser. Brian Croser is one of the pioneers of winemaking in Australia. His brand Petaluma was a benchmark across different categories of Australian wine. ‘Croser’ as an eponymous brand has a fizz focus. The first wines were limited to non-vintage, vintage and rosé versions. Vinarchy owns both Croser and Petaluma now. Vinarchy is the name of the new merged business of Accolade Wines and Pernod Ricard.
It is unsurprising that Chardonnay features heavily in these wines. Particularly, considering Brian Croser is also an expert in Australian Chardonnay.
How do they make it?
Croser NV sparkling is a Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend. The winemakers use the traditional method to make the wine – the same method as Champagne.
What does it taste like?
A fuller mouthful of berry and citrus with a hint of creamy biscuit. It is well balanced and easy to reach for another glass full. The flavours last a long time in the mouth.
What to drink it with?
Enjoy this wine with or without food. Chicken salad, feta salad or quiche would also be good. Seafood, too.
Cheese
The wine is a traditional match with white bloomy cheese. Especially cheeses such as Brie or Camembert. Or a feta or chevre.
